SCOUT was founded by Clare Scully, driven by a passion for movement and the belief that looking good and performing well are not mutually exclusive. Growing up with a small stature and flair for fashion, Clare was no stranger to standing out, particularly in athletic circles. A coach and mentor once said to her, “You’re a wolf disguised inside a poodle’s body, go show ‘em what you’ve got!” From that moment, Clare embraced her style as a source of strength.
After moving to NYC and beginning a corporate role, Clare became accustomed to differentiating herself with colorful and unique spins on traditional work attire in a field trademarked by the monotony of conventional business wear.
Though this standardization was not surprising in the finance world, it shocked her to realize that in the fitness community, uniformity characterized athletic apparel as well. Clare immediately noticed a gap in the market for elevated, unique activewear designs that went beyond basic functionality. This realization sparked the inspiration for SCOUT.
